Exposing your work to the public is easy

..but getting their attention is difficult.

You have a message. You have finding. You have a scientific result. And you made it all public. So why are no-one picking it up? Or worse: why are the wrong people picking it up?

The key is strategic planning.

It can be convenient to believe, that due to the large number of social media platforms, it has never been easier to get your message out there. But the truth is, that is has never been more difficult. With every platform comes an audience, and with every audience comes a set of overlapping preferences.

First identify who your target audience is. Then identify where they are. And lastly identify how they use the media. It is not until this stage, that you start to create outreach content that fit the shape of the platform as well as match the criteria and preferences of your target audience.
